AMG appoints aviation and property executive as new COO

Aeria Management Group (AMG) is pleased to announce the appointment of experienced aviation and property executive Amanda Majarres as Chief Operating Officer, to lead the ongoing transformation of NSW’s premier general aviation and industrial precincts.

Amanda will oversee AMG’s infrastructure, facilities and developments across Aeria Precinct, home of Bankstown Airport, and Camden Airport, which together contribute $1.8 billion a year to the State economy and support 9000 jobs.

AMG CEO Tom Smith said Amanda’s skills and expertise would be instrumental in driving sustainable operations and growth across its precincts, which are home to more than 180 customers such as emergency services, flight schools and leading manufacturing, distribution and logistics companies.

“Amanda will be an extraordinary asset for AMG as we continue to enhance and invest in our airport precincts, to support general aviation and generate greater economic and employment growth for our owner Aware Super and the people and businesses of Southwest Sydney,” he said.

Amanda joins AMG from commercial real estate firm CBRE, where she was Managing Director Southeast Asia and Pacific, with responsibility for operations and facilities across 17 countries. She previously held several senior leadership roles at Qantas, including Head of Airport Infrastructure Projects and Head of Group Property and Group Operations.

As COO of AMG, she will oversee the company’s substantial investment projects, including a major new aviation hangar development and new community, commercial and retail centre at Bankstown Airport – the 2023 Metro Airport of the Year –  as well as ongoing upgrades to airside pavements and roads.

“I am thrilled to embark on this new journey with such an inspiring team at Aeria Management Group,” she said. “I am excited to contribute, learn and grow together in this role and as AMG continues in the transformation of its precincts into vibrant destinations for aviation, industry and community.”

Amanda will start at AMG on 14 October.
